Moon phases, signs for weekend
Weekend signs and phases
Here's what's ahead for those of you following planting by the phases of the moon and signs of the zodiac who are planning to do any planting.
The moon is in the dark phase until April 7 for below-ground producers. Friday, Saturday and Sunday all find the sign in Aquarius (the legs), one of the so-so signs. Excellent planting for your below-ground producers is on tap for April 4-5 when the sign moves to Pisces (the feet) one of the four most fertile signs. If you plan to plant in the outside garden, be sure your ground is dry.
This stretch through Tuesday will also be a great time for making changes like starting a diet or exercise program, weaning small children or animals or stopping smoking. Just be underway by Wednesday when the sign moves to Aries (the head).

Signs, phases for March 28-April 3
Planting information
Here’s this
week’s planting by the phases of the moon and signs of the zodiac information
for March 28 through April 3. Be sure to check the average last date for frost
in your area if you are planting anything that is frost-sensitive, according to
your planting zone and don’t plant if your soil is wet.
The moon is
in the dark phase now and that will continue until the new moon at 7:34 a.m.
EDT on April 7. If you are planting veggies, make it below-ground producers like
potatoes, onions and radishes: what we eat is below the ground. Also, if you
are starting your own plants for the garden then likewise be starting
below-ground producers.
According to
the signs of the zodiac, Monday begins a series of so-so signs that continues
through April 3, all with the moon in the dark phase. Specifically, Sagittarius
(thighs) first two days; Capricorn (knees) next two days; and Aquarius rounding
it out April 1-3. These signs aren’t especially fertile but they’re not
destructive either – just so-so.
When you add
April 4-5 to the stretch, those two days ruled by the very fertile sign Pisces
(the feet), you have an incredibly long stretch for making changes like
starting a diet or exercise program, stopping smoking, weaning small animals or
children, scheduling elective surgery – anything that involves a change.
I receive a
lot of inquiries from folks regarding when the best time is to make whatever
change they want to make may be. Well, here you have it beginning March 27 and
continuing on through April 5 – nine days. These days fit the formula perfectly
with the moon in the dark phase and the signs going out of the body past
anything that function, namely Sagittarius/thighs through Pisces/feet.
What you DON’T
want to be doing until April 7 is pouring gravel or laying rock because the
dark moon is in force until 7:24 a.m. Let’s wait until the moon is in the light
phase to put down those rocks.
If you have
questions, don’t hesitate to be in touch.
